Mental Toughness is our annual special event combining physical training with mental tasks, teamwork and discipline. It is delivered in a military style under the guidance of a former military instructor. No next edition is scheduled yet; new dates will be announced when confirmed.

What do we mean by mental toughness?

Mental toughness does not mean fatigue, doubt or stress disappear. It is the ability to keep making useful decisions under pressure. CrossFit describes mental toughness as performing well despite fatigue and doubt.

Training can build this by exposing you to controlled challenges: a hard workout, an unexpected task, teamwork under time pressure, or maintaining good technique while tired.

Why a military style?

The military style gives the event structure: clear tasks, responsibility, teamwork and dealing with uncertainty. The goal is not to imitate soldiers, but to create a different stimulus from a regular CrossFit class.

Because the event is coached, tasks can be adapted to the athlete and situation. The emphasis is on teamwork, persistence and staying composed when circumstances change.

Who is the event for?

You do not need to be a competition athlete. The event is for members who want a different kind of challenge and want to experience the combination of physical effort and mental tasks.

The next date is not yet known. Contact CrossFit Gorinchem if you want to hear when the next edition is planned.
